Critical Illness Insurance Claim
The critical illness claim and heart attack insurance cover is a product where the insured and the insurer strike a contract so that the insured is paid a lump sum amount if medically diagnosed of any of the critical illnesses that have been listed in the policy.
What is Critical illness insurance?
Critical illness insurance, commonly referred to as trauma insurance, is common especially in factories, production plants and areas prone to certain diseases. Common illnesses include heart attack, stroke, cancer and coronary artery by-pass surgery. Others include kidney failure, deafness, blindness, Parkinson’s disease, terminal illness, paralysis of limb, multiple sclerosis, organ transplant, Alzheimer’s disease, kidney failure and HIV/AIDS that has been contracted through an operation or by blood transfusion.
However, some diseases are excluded from the cover, especially extreme sports injuries and self-inflicted injuries.
Depending on the requirements of the insurer, an individual can apply for more than one policy to cover different illnesses and heart attack insurance claims.
